The reconstructed Svan Tower in Tbilisi is part of the Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography. The Svan towers belonged to the period of the 9th - 12th centuries and were used as a protective structure of residential buildings. They helped to hide during the attack. They could be accessed either from the second floor of an adjacent house, or by a wooden staircase, which was lifted after hiding.
The Svan Towers are considered part of a lost history. There are about 200 of them left on the whole planet.
