The Parliament of Georgia building on Rustaveli Avenue is the supreme legislative body of Georgia. Originally built as The Government House of the Georgian SSR in 1953.
The building is a complex of "Upper" and "Lower" buildings connected by an underground center and a bunker. Many political events are connected with the building, including the placement of the Parliament of Georgia in it from 1997 to 2012 before moving to Kutaisi. Since 2019, it has been the official building of the Parliament of Georgia.
During the stay of the Georgian Parliament in Kutaisi, the building was completely reconstructed. Long before the move, any symbols reminiscent of the country's Soviet past were removed from the facade of the building.
