The construction of the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Leiksna (Līksnas Jēzus Svētās Sirds baznīca) was completed in 1913. The silhouette of the Gothic-style temple is a remarkable dominant feature of the landscape of the Daugava Valley in the area of Lake Kosha.
Liksna Church, Latvia
The Leiksna Church is a building in Neo-Gothic architecture, with a tiled floor. There is a large window in front above the doors, through which the statue of the Heart of Jesus is visible. There is a large choir room with a large organ, which was acquired during the time of the Kalnishs minister. This organ has a very beautiful sound. The church has all the necessary liturgical equipment. There is a large garden around the temple.

Now the church is in a depressed state, the last time the Leiksna church was painted in 1964 with oil paints, the ceiling was whitewashed. The church has electricity, but there is no heating, only the sacristy is heated. The bricks in the walls of the church were of poor quality and began to collapse, so in 1939 the minister Kalnishs began to gradually take them out and replace them with new ones. It was a lot of work, he replaced at least 60 thousand bricks, but it did not improve the situation. The church needs reconstruction.
