Gelati monastery (Gelati Monastery, გელაოი, გელათის მონასტერი) is a medieval monastery founded in 1106. The complex of buildings is a World Heritage Monument, it includes three temples, a bell tower, an Academy, arches of the eastern and southern gates, a refectory, the abbot's house and cells.

The walls of the church are decorated with frescoes and mosaics from the Byzantine period, later portraits of kings and priests, as well as classical biblical subjects.

The monastery was founded by King David IV, and he was buried here. It is believed that one of the six limits of the temple was reserved for tombs and, according to oral tradition, Queen Tamara was buried in it.
