The Bridge of Peace is one of the most unusual pedestrian bridges in the world. Initially, the 150-meter-long bridge was created in Italy by the Italian designer Michele De Lucchi. In 2010, it was brought to the capital and connected Old Tbilisi with the modern Rike Park across the Kura River.
The bridge fascinates not only with its "floating" shape, but also with the unique illumination of 10 thousand lamps, which was created by the French lighting designer Philippe Martineau. The lamps shimmer in different shapes, pave paths in front of pedestrians, and also convey the names of the periodic table of chemical elements in Morse code.

The key point of dispute over such an unusual bridge was the rejection of it by a part of the population. The modern bridge began to involuntarily dominate the historical part, distracting people from studying the ancient history of the city and its architecture.
