Tower of Saint Vincent
Tower of Saint Vincent is a fortress on the banks of the Tagus River. Built in 1519, the tower served as a lighthouse, a prison, a customs house, a powder magazine, and a telegraph station. But its first task, for which King Manuel I ordered the construction to begin, was the defense of the city.
