Monument to the Discoveries
The Monument to the Discoverers (Padrao dos Descobrimentos, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Monumento dos Descobrimentos) is a monument dedicated to the great Portuguese figures of geographical discovery. It was built to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Portuguese Prince Henry the Navigator in 1940.
