The museum of the book by A.P. Chekhov "Sakhalin Island" is dedicated not only to the period of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov's life on Sakhalin, but also to his one of the most important works — the book "Sakhalin Island", which opened eyes to the life and problems of Sakhalin society, about the terrible hard labor to which children were sent.

The name may give the impression that this museum is about A. P. Chekhov, but it reveals more about the contents of the book Sakhalin Island. The exhibition tells about the nature of the island, how the writer studied Sakhalin and how the locals lived. The museum is located in the very center of the city, I recommend visiting
