The pineapple farm (Arruda Pineapple Plantation, Plantação Ananases A Arruda) is the only place in the world where pineapples are grown in greenhouses. Pineapples and oranges were brought to the Azores in the 19th century, and since then, some of the most delicious fruits have been exported from there. The plantation is located in the town of Ponta Delgada. If you come during the pineapple ripening season, you can taste the freshest fruits and smoothies made right here.
