Northern Macedonia

When talking about Europe, we are bound to recall medieval narrow alleys, beautiful cobblestones, tourists’ conversations, dining al fresco etc. We have become accustomed to seeing those sights in Italy, Spain, France. But how about Eastern Europe?

For the whole trip around the country, we had only one weekend. But that did not stop us from seeing an incredible number of beautiful historical sites, feeling the energy that connects our present with the historical past. I decided to dedicate a separate my travel note to the churches of Ohrid.

I continue the story of my journey through Northern Macedonia. In addition to the beautiful Lake Ohrid, there is another place worth visiting — Lake Matka, which was created man-made by a dam. The incredibly beautiful views make this place breathtaking.

In many countries, you want to start your journey from the capital. And having absorbed the maximum impressions from the main cultural and historical center, head to other cities.
