Khlong Son Beach

Khlong Son Beach is the northernmost beach of Koh Chang Island, suitable for recreation. Despite its size and picturesqueness, it is little known to the majority of tourists. The reason is unreliable information in travel guides and confusion on the Internet.

About the beach

At the northern tip of Khlong Son Beach, in Blue Haven Bay (Siam Royal View)

In the past, this Koh Chang beach was named in different ways: on the map of the Tourism Department it is referred to as "Khlong Son Bay", the name is not indicated in the local guidebook, the roadside sign says "Chang Noi Beach", in the magazine for Thai travelers it is referred to as "Chang Noi Son Bay Beach" or "Premwadi The scourge."

Nevertheless, Khlong Son, which is most often called Chang Noi, is worthy of attention, since here you can get a lot of impressions not only from swimming in the sea, but also from visiting the surrounding attractions.

The beach itself is an impressive strip of sand with beautiful, clear, albeit very low tidal waters. A unique marine embankment of anamorphic boulders runs through this part of the northern tip of Chang Island.

What to do

This is not the part of the island where many Koh Chang vacationers go for the luxurious beaches, but there is activity here too: a small fishing community, the best elephant camp on the island, a sanctuary of spirits who care about the fate of Koh Chang Island, a good passage to the jungle, a cute little cascading waterfall. In addition, there is even a cockfighting arena.

A huge premium residential complex right on the seashore with Siam Royal Bay golf courses is the hallmark of the northern tip of Koh Chang - a good place to relax and invest in real estate.

On the hill closest to the pier stands the Chao Por Koh Chang Shrine. If the word Wat is written in the name of a religious landmark, it will be a Buddhist Thai temple, and Shrine means that the temple is Taoist. Chao Po Temple was built in honor of a wandering Taoist monk, whose spirit is considered the patron saint of the island – "Chao Po" means "Godfather". People believe that the holy place works wonders.
