The Elevador de Santa Justa (Santa Justa Lift, Elevador do Carmo) is a 45 m high elevator built in 1902 to facilitate movement through hilly Lisbon. There is an observation deck on top, which offers a magnificent view of Rossio Square (Pedro IV Square). The elevators were built by a student Gustave Eiffel is similar in style to the Eiffel Tower.
