Sochi
Sochi is the only subtropical resort city in Russia, stretching along the Black Sea coast for 145 kilometers. a resort town on the Black Sea coast. The date of the city's foundation is considered to be 1829, when, after the end of the Russian-Turkish War, the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus from the mouth of the Kuban River to the fort of St. Nicholas passed to Russia. Sochi is beautiful not only with sunny beaches, magnificent hotels and developed infrastructure, but also with snow-covered ski resorts, green forests and many cultural attractions.

The first mention of Sochi can be found in the records of the Turkish traveler Evliy Celebi, who found himself on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus in 1641. In its first mention, Sochi referred to the name of the mountains. A little later, on the Russian map of the Black Sea in 1723, the village of Suchi was marked on the site of the modern city of Sochi.
Sochi is famous all over the world, including for hosting the Olympic Games here in 2014.
