Jean-Michel Othoniel's installation "Alpha" is a composition of 114 fountain sculptures against the backdrop of the Qatar National Museum.
Each of the sculptures is an abstract reinterpretation of some letters of the Arabic alphabet, symbolizing wild reeds as a fragile part of nature, passing culture from generation to generation through calligraphy, which is created from carved reeds.
