Al Wakrah (Al Wakra) is one of the oldest cities in Qatar. It is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It occupies an area of 62.95 km2 between the cities of Umm Said and Doha. The development of the city has historically been associated with fishing and pearl mining.
