The construction of the White Wat Kau Temple in Krabi began with the formation of a monastic settlement in 1887. This is how a place for religious activity appeared, referred to as the "Residence of the Pak Nam monk", in some guidebooks this temple is called Wat Kaeo Ko Wararam (Pak Nam).

The number of monks increased, and new buildings were erected in the temple complex. The buildings that appeared today are used to accommodate pilgrims at Wat Kaew Temple Krabi.
