Vasco da Gama Shopping Center (Vasco da Gama Center, Centro Vasco da Gama) is part of the overall architectural project of Santiago Calatrava to create a transport and trade hub of Lisbon. Like the Oriente Train Station, the mall was opened during the World EXPO’98 in 1998.
It is especially interesting to pay attention to an architectural solution resembling a ship with two sail towers (they are residential buildings and apartment hotels). The shopping center is connected to the station building, so you can not only enjoy shopping, admire the unusual architecture and design, but also relax after a long journey in one of the many cafes.
