The Einar Jonsson Museum (The Einar Jonsson Museum and Sculpture Garden) was built according to the artist's own idea. It can be said that the museum itself is its largest sculpture. Einar was the first Icelandic sculptor and left a great mark on the culture of Iceland. Einar became the first Icelandic sculptor to enter the world art scene. His sculptures intertwine reality and Icelandic mythology, paganism and Christianity, laced with hints of karma and symbolism.
