The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hadlgrimskirkja (Hallgrímskirkja) is located on a hilltop in the center of Reykjavik and is visible from any part of the city. The church houses a large organ and an observation deck with panoramic views of Reykjavik, the surrounding mountains and the ocean.

The church was designed in 1937 by one of Iceland's most famous architects, Gudjon Samuelsson, who is said to have sought inspiration from Icelandic nature. The construction of the church took 41 years and the Nave was consecrated in 1986.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hadlgrimskirkja is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for adults: 1400 Icelandic crowns, for children : 200 Icelandic crowns.
