Monte Palace 

The history of the palace dates back to the 18th century. The three-storey building is mostly occupied by a museum, which hosts an exhibition of works of African art (African Passion Exhibition), historical sculptures, a collection of rare minerals (Mother Nature Collections Museum) brought from all over the world, and an art gallery with paintings. 

Monte Palace Garden 

This is a picturesque garden at the top of the city of Funchal, which was originally a private estate. Here you can find several different topics. An oriental garden that stands out with decorative elements of Buddhism. The veranda of Romeo and Juliet (Varanda de Romeu e Julieta). Large azulejos tiles (Panel de azulejos de Padráo, Panneaux retraçant l'histoire du Portugal) are laid along the garden paths, reflecting important events in Portuguese history. In addition, the garden is decorated with a variety of sculptures and statues. Exotic plants from different parts of the world, interesting fauna and incredible landscapes make this place incredibly wonderful to visit.
