Natural History Museum Madeira, Funchal

Natural History Museum Madeira (Museu de Historia Natural do Funchal) is a local history museum dedicated to the natural history of Madeira. It is the oldest operating museum in the archipelago, opened in 1933. The museum holds more than 40,000 exhibits in its collection. Among them are many species of fish, birds, terrestrial and marine mammals, reptiles, insects, invertebrates and plants, rocks and minerals.
