The Jumeirah Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in the UAE and certainly the most famous in Dubai. The mosque was built of white sandstone in 1979. It was a gift to the city and muslims from Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The architecture style of the mosque — Fatimid originates from Syria and Egypt.
The mosque is open to tourists of other faiths, and is based on the concept of 'Open Doors'. Here everyone can join Islam, learn and take part in the purity process. You can also ask any questions to the guide and taste Arabic coffee, tea, Emirati dates and luqaimat — sweet dumplings covered with date syrup.
Keep in mind that the Jumeirah Mosque is active, so you must follow the accepted visiting procedure: you need to take off your shoes, clothes should completely cover your legs and arms to the wrists, women should wear a headscarf. If you don't have a headscarf with you, you can get one at the mosque.
After visiting the mosque, guests can go to a small souvenir shop where they can buy national clothes or small gifts for friends and relatives.
You can also take photos in the mosque.
The mosque is located on Jumeirah Street. The buses with numbers 8, C10, 9, 88 and X28 stop there.
The time of the visit with an excursion is 10 am and 2 pm, daily, except for Friday. Registration 30 minutes before the start. Duration — 75 minutes.
