TOP 10 New Year and Christmas fairs in Moscow this winter

New Year's holidays and Christmas in Russia are the most favorite time for citizens: colorful lights, Christmas music, the scent of magic in the air! Presumably, from December 13, 2024 to January 13, 2025, all the festive venues in Moscow are represented by the Journey to Christmas festival and will work every day seven days a week. We have collected the TOP 10 brightest venues of the festival to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

1. Fair on Red Square – GUM

The design style of the Christmas fair on Red Square in 2023-2024 is Gzhel. This blue and white painting is a legendary symbol of Russian ceramics and porcelain. There are many gifts in souvenir shops: painted Christmas balls, felt boots, knitted mittens, Pavloposadsky and Orenburg shawls, handicrafts. Treats will be served from all over the world – Viennese waffles, Tula gingerbread, Bavarian sausages, Russian pancakes and hot fragrant mulled wine. You can also have fun skating and carousels here. The GUM skating rink is expected to open on November 30 and will operate until the end of February 2025. Admission to the fair is free, as always.

2. Sokolniki

The Christmas Fair in Sokolniki Park is one of the venues of the large-scale citywide festival "Journey to Christmas". At the Sokolniki Fair, you can take part in vocal and dance shows and master classes, cook a dish at a cooking show, enjoy delicious treats, drink punch, buy original souvenirs and gifts, clothes, jewelry, listen to music and dance, have fun with family and friends. There is also an ice rink in the park in winter. Admission is free.

3. Tsaritsyno

Bright blue boxes for New Year's mail and messages to Santa Claus have already appeared at the entrance to the park. Tsaritsyno invites young viewers to the New Year's performance "The Snow Queen", follow the schedule. Gingerbread cookies, Kolomna pastille, curly chocolate, Christmas tree toys, original handmade brooches, children's toys and many New Year souvenirs and gifts will be waiting for the guests. Admission to the fair is free.

4. Gorky Park

The organizers promise a lot of culinary delicacies and a rich cultural and entertainment program. Admission to the fair is free.

6. Tverskaya Square

Tverskaya Square welcomes guests with incredible light illumination! Santa Claus and Snow Maiden will meet Muscovites and guests of the capital at the festival venues. A fairground will unfold at the monument to Yuri Dolgoruky. Here, guests will be treated to festive national dishes from different parts of the country, you can buy handicrafts and New Year's gifts for relatives and friends. Herbal teas and lavender, Kalmyk leather goods, Yakut bone carvings and much more await guests in the pavilions of the fairground. 8. Kuznetsky Bridge

The Christmas fair on Kuznetsky Most within the framework of the "Journey to Christmas" program is represented by a gallery of designer Christmas trees, each of which will have its own unique decor inspired by the theme of sketches "Great Russia: Science.
