Istanbul is a unique city. You may or may not like it, but no matter how many times you find yourself there, every time you will be able to find something new and interesting for yourself. This trip was to such places.

Galataport Embankment was opened at the end of 2021, where he immediately went. As far as I know, the opening was planned in 2020 at all, but strict covid restrictions shifted the schedule.

Portovaya embankment. The port itself was opened in 2022.

The embankment begins after the popular restaurant streets of the Karakey district in the area of the Museum of Modern Art.

The usual noisy streets of Karakey, which are wonderful for their food and great atmosphere

But after a few meters you find yourself in the modern world.

The new promenade is very similar to the JBR Walk in Dubai. To be honest, there was a feeling that the same project was adapted. Well, at least the stylist is very similar.

Investments in the project amounted to more than 1.8 billion US dollars. The development of the coastline currently occupies 1.2 km.

Immediately after the opening, almost nothing worked far away

Street escalators are my love.

What about the famous seltbae restaurant

Not all architectural solutions are pleasant. Buildings in the style of multi—level parking lots - well, that.

But this place is a delight. By the way, the building is in the Wright style

A large number of restaurants and shops in modern architecture. Panoramic windows offer a wonderful view of the Sultanahmet district.

Gorgeous view from the balconies

Courtyards. Nothing to do with the streets of Istanbul, which we are familiar with.

In general, it turned out to be a cool modern space. It perfectly complements the atmosphere of the area, which was based on Istanbul Modern (Museum of Modern Art), which became the first place implemented in a new concept for Istanbul back in 2004.

The place is interesting, I was there recently. But not everything is so rosy. The place is clearly made for European tourists who dock on cruise liners. When the liners are moored, they stand along the embankment and block the entire view, thousands of tourists somehow find themselves on the embankment. But this is especially noticeable if you get to the period an hour or two before departure - you will not find free space in any restaurant.
