Bosnia and Herzegovina. General impressions

You need to be a little extreme to go to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Christmas. Without a background. With children. Therefore, this trip goes under the stream of "Adventure". Although, of course, there were much more impressions.

If you are a lover of contrasts, then you can quite imagine the difference between summer and winter. We started from Montenegro. The road to Sarajevo was accompanied by the gradual invasion of cold fronts and other climatic zones, and we arrived in the snow from summer.

The picture behind the windshield changed slowly but surely. At first, the vegetation changed color, then the style, and then everything turned white. Like in the movies. And it got noticeably colder.

Bosnia and Herzegovina began for us with the Republika Srpska.

The conditional border between Montenegro and the Serbian Republic.

Being a people who are not very knowledgeable in geopolitics, we studied the historical and chronological layer along the way and for good reason. It came in handy to understand what was going on here and why it all looks like this.

It is winter in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As it should be in January.

Definitely, it is necessary to understand the difference between being in the Republika Srpska and BiH itself.- Bosnia and Herzegovina). First of all, I'm talking about the psychological climate. A warm welcome, friendly people. No sideways glances. The Serbs.

The overall impressions of Bosnia and Herzegovina turned out to be devoid of pink unicorns. It was radically real here. The water is wet, the snow is white. Life is real.

Recent historical events have left an indelible mark on everything from the terrain to the people. It is difficult to explain in words, you can only put together puzzles and see the big picture.

The country is not exactly a tourist destination, except for places of natural attractions and architectural monuments.

It was strange to travel in some places. I had a similar feeling when we were passing through the industrial regions of Turkey, where tourists are treated warily. They follow me with their eyes, so to speak. This disillusioned about the idea of travel as something filigree postcard.

You need to go to Bosnia and Herzegovina consciously. Realizing that what he saw might be true. And the truth is in the eyes of the beholder. And it's good if there is a sky and beautiful nature…
