Turquoise Lakes (Blue Lakes) are four lakes formed on the site of the Novikov quarries, in which ore (presumably Germanium) was mined. One of the lakes has a bright turquoise color which is what gave it its name.

About the lake
Turquoise lakes
Due to the specifics of the mined ore, the lakes are not suitable for swimming and there are no fish in them. But in any case, this is one of the most popular places for tourists to visit. The road from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk takes about 2.5 hours.
