About the lighthouse

Another feature of the lighthouse is the calculation of long–term autonomy: the design used a rainwater collection system, which was filtered and drained into an underground concrete tank. An identical design was used at the lighthouse at Cape Lamanon.

Cape Slepikovsky used to be called "Notoro", and the lighthouse — "Konotoro". The lighthouse was designed by Japanese engineer Shinobu Miura, who built the Aniva Lighthouse in 1939. The lighthouse building has preserved beams and planks marked with Japanese hieroglyphs, an underground well and many other elements characteristic of Japanese architecture.
