Stables can be not just utilitarian buildings for some of the most beloved animals, but also full-fledged houses that are seamlessly connected to residential buildings in modern architecture. We have selected the TOP 5 most interesting stables in the world that will surprise you.

1. Figueres Stable

Figueres Stable

I would like to put the incredible Figueres stable in the first place. Elegant modern sophisticated architecture reflected in the mirrored surface of the water, elegant stairs and seasoned planes. The stable is located near Buenos Aires in the picturesque Pampa plain, in which the horizon stands out especially vividly. The shape of the back is perfectly inscribed and emphasizes the identity of the region of Argentina.

This is a magnificent house in which 44 horses live together with people.

The stable was built by the famous architect Juan Ignacio Ramos in 2017 for one of the most famous Argentine polo players Nacho Figueres, the owner of the six-goal handicap.

2. Equestrian Club in Fazenda Boa Vista

Equestrian Club in Fazenda Boa Vista

One of the most famous modern residential complexes in Brazil near the city of Sao Paulo, created by the famous architect Isaiah Weinfeld. Its key feature is the equestrian club, which is a symbiosis of nature and fascinating architecture.

The equestrian club consists of the stable building itself and a comfortable recreation area with a cafe, from where it is pleasant to watch the training of thoroughbred horses.

3. Private stable in Valle de Bravo and El Mirador Stable

We want to divide the third place between two projects by the same architects located in the Valle de Bravo near Mexico City.

The architects sought to recreate the concept of a traditional barn, connecting the interior living spaces with magnificent nature complemented by stables.

Charming design from the bureau The CC Arquitectos and the chief architects Manuel Cervantes Cespedes and Jose Luis Heredia Alvarez were highly praised by AR Emerging Architecture.

The key features of the stable are the open arches sunk into the ground and a large barrel fenced with wooden logs of different sizes.

It is worth noting that in Valle de Bravo there is another famous stable from architects Manuel Cervantes Cespedes and Jose Luis Heredia Alvarez.

Here you will find a completely different concept, but no less amazing: thanks to the relief, the stable, including a cooling pool with a drinking bowl for horses, is located on the roof of a residential mansion. An open transition into the landscape allows horses to graze freely in nature and return on their own.

4. Arqana Auction House

Arkan Auction House

Arcana is the largest auction house in France and the second most important in Europe for the sale of thoroughbred horses. On its territory there are magnificent stables, which house some of the best horses in the world with maximum comfort before sale.

Every year, 18 auctions are held on its territory, where more than 5,000 thoroughbred and riding horses are represented. The auction turnover is more than 140 million euros per year.

The most prestigious auction takes place in August. During it, one-year-old thoroughbred thoroughbred horses are put up for sale.

5. Crackenback Stables

Crackenback Stables

In conclusion, I would like to tell you about the stables built by the architectural bureau Casey Brown on the territory of the Kosciuszko National Park at the foot The Australian Alps in New South Wales in Australia.

The five buildings of the stables are covered with corrugated iron, and the gable parts are weather–resistant Corten steel. The interior finish is polished concrete.

Architecture designed by Antje Mahler, fits as succinctly as possible into the style of local farm buildings.
