The State Art Museum of Adjara is a museum opened in 1998 in the historical building of the famous architect Kakha Javakhishvili in 1949. The exhibits include paintings, engravings and sculptures by Georgian and foreign artists. The collection includes more than 500 works of Georgian, Soviet, Russian, Eastern and Western European art of the XIX-XX centuries.
The facade of the building is notable for a relief frieze by the famous Georgian sculptor Tamara Abakelia, and the interior contains motifs of medieval Georgian architecture. Since 2015, an art gallery has been added to the art museum, the building of which is a harmonious continuation of the main one.
