Gonio Fortress
Gonio Fortress (Gonio-Apsar Fortress, გონიოს ციხე) is the oldest fort in Georgia. The first mention of the fortress dates back to the 1st century as a Roman city in Colchis. Ancient towers have been preserved here, the interior space has been transformed into an open-air park museum, and excavations and artifacts are located in the Archaeological Museum in one of the buildings of the fortress.
