The rock paintings in Alta (The Rock Art of Alta, Helleristningene i Alta) are petroglyphs that were discovered in 1972 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A wide range of animals can be found in the drawings, including images of deer, bears, hunting and fishing scenes and many other images, the earliest of which date back to about 4200 BC.
The petroglyphs are part of the archaeological museum in Alta.
