The RAEGE Observatory (Estação Geodésica e Espacial de Santa Maria — RAEGE, RAEGE — Santa Maria) is a space station that studies cosmic bodies and objects. The Azores Islands are located in an advantageous geostrategic position for space exploration, so the location for the scientific observatory was not chosen by chance.
