Mishennaya Sopka is the highest hill with a height of 382.5 meters in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, on the slopes of which a significant part of the city is located. At the top point there is an observation deck, which offers picturesque views of the "home" volcanoes Aag, Arik, Avachinsky, Koryaksky, Kozelsky, as well as Avachinsky Bay and the city center.

Initially, the hill was called Mezhennaya (from the word "mezha" means "border") since it actually separated the city from other settlements in Kamchatka. Now the meaning has been lost, since roads were laid through the hill many decades ago, and the new "Mishennaya" came from the colloquial. The locals called it "Mishenka."
