The Military History Museum is the largest museum of the Russian Armed Forces in the Far East.  The museum presents an exposition telling about the history of the Kamchatka Navy, to study front-line diaries, photographs, memoirs and letters of participants of the Great Patriotic War.

Overview of Military History Museum

The museum was founded on the Day of the Navy - July 26, 1959. Locals call it the Museum of Military Glory.

Among the unique collections of the museum are exhibits preserved from the time of the Second Kamchatka expedition of Vitus Bering, an authentic St. George's Cross of the 4th degree, presented to the museum by the commander of the Kamchatka military flotilla Yuri Shumanin, an admiralty anchor of the 18th century found at the site of battles in the Sea of Okhotsk and many other exhibits.
