Krýsuvík is a zone of geothermal and volcanic activity located in the south of the Reykjavik Peninsula in Iceland. The geothermal zone of Кrysuvik is characterized by mud pools, hot springs and steaming vents, as well as colorful mineral deposits that cover the earth.
Кrysuvik Geothermal Zone
The Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which crosses the whole of Iceland, runs right through the Reykjavik Peninsula and has a dramatic effect on the landscape. When these plates move apart, magma exits close to the earth's surface, causing groundwater to boil and geothermal zones to form.
