Kerid (Kerið) is a volcanic lake in the southern region of Sudurland. Kerid is about three thousand years old. This is the main reason that the slopes of Kerida are red in color, and not volcanically black, from a geological point of view, the iron deposits here are fresh. The dark red rocks contrast sharply with the surrounding terrain and the rich azure color of the water, which creates a magical atmosphere in this place.
