Surely many people have thought about traveling around the world at least once, but few people know that in our modern times there are incredible people who have conquered and continue to conquer the world all their lives. In our article we will talk about the legendary Russian traveler, writer, artist and priest of the Russian Orthodox Church — Fyodor Filippovich Konyukhov.

He was born on December 12, 1951 in the Zaporozhye region on the shore of the Sea of Azov. Since childhood, Fyodor knew for sure that he would be a traveler. And he had such confidence thanks to his grandfather, Mikhail Petrovich Konyukhov. In his youth, Fedor's grandfather met and established relations with the great patron saint of the north, Georgy Yakovlevich Sedov. Later, before the last campaign, George bequeathed Mikhail to give the cross to his strong descendant, who would be able to reach the Arctic. Thus, Fyodor got the cross.
In his youth, Fyodor actively developed his physical endurance. He ran along the coastline in the morning, swam, often played football in summer, and in winter he went skiing and spent the night in the hayloft until severe frosts. Fyodor considered intensive mathematics classes to be an integral part of his development, which later allowed him to make calculations and build the most effective routes. It is also known that Fyodor Konyukhov made his first trip at the age of 15, he crossed the Sea of Azov at such a young age on a merry boat.

Fyodor turned out to be a very creative person. He enjoys writing books, painting paintings and icon painting. Currently, he is the author of 26 books, as well as a member of the Writers' Union of the Russian Federation. More than three thousand paintings have appeared from under Fyodor's brush, which express a unique vision of the world
Fyodor Filippovich has made about sixty expeditions over the years; became the first person in the world to reach the five poles of the planet: the Northern Geographical, the Southern geographical, the Pole of relative inaccessibility in the Arctic Ocean, Mount Everest (pole of altitude) and Cape Horn, which is considered the pole of yachtsmen; the first in the world to complete the Grand Slam Adventure program (Adventurers Grand Slam) in May 1997: The North Pole (1988), the South Pole (1996), and the "Seven Peaks of the World", including Mount Everest (from 1992 to 1997).

All in his life, Fyodor Filippovich made five circumnavigations of the world, and the first in Russia (the second in the world) He made a single round-the-world balloon flight.
Among the largest, it is worth noting the state awards of the USSR and Russia — the Order of Friendship of the Peoples of the USSR for the Transarctic ski expedition "USSR – North Pole – Canada" and the Order of Honor for services in the field of studying human capabilities in extreme conditions, dedication and dedication shown in achieving new world records in solo travel.

After landing at the North Pole, Fyodor Filippovich will deploy a single drifting polar station in the Arctic Ocean, where he will live for three weeks, continuing to carry out the scientific program of the P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
