Santa Clara, Cuba is a vibrant historical city located in the center of the country. It is the capital of Villa Clara Province, which is home to more than 200,000 people. Santa Clara is known for its colonial architecture, vibrant culture and numerous attractions.

Overview

Santa Clara was founded in 1689 by the Spanish conquistador Juan de Ampudia. It was named after St. Clare of Assisi, the patron saint of the city. Santa Clara is home to several important historical sites, including the Mausoleum of Che Guevara and the Cathedral of Santa Clara.

The city is also home to several universities, including Santa Clara University and Las Villas University. There are also several museums and galleries, including the Museum of Decorative Arts.
