Camaguey is the third largest city in Cuba and is known for its unique architecture, vibrant culture and rich history.
The city was founded in 1514, as Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe, by Spanish colonists. It was one of the seven original settlements. The city, created as a maze to make it difficult for attackers to move, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also home to a number of interesting museums, such as the Camaguey Museum, which houses artifacts from the past.
