Karymskaya Sopka is an active one, the height of which is 1,469 m. It is considered one of the most active – the last eruption was in 2013, while in 2015 and 2022 it threw out columns of ash to a height of more than 5 kilometers.
Karymskoe Lake is located at the foot of the volcano, which, after an underground explosion in 1996, turned from freshwater into a pool of acidic mineral water. The water temperature in the lake is about 28 degrees due to thermal water emissions.
