The island of Vila Franca (Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, Vila Franca Islet) is an uninhabited island that is a nature reserve. It was formed from the remains of a volcano. It is popular with tourists as a great place for swimming and diving, as there are several underwater caves here. It is located opposite the town of Vila Franca do Campo on the island of San Miguel.
