Furna Cave (Furna do Enhofre, Furna do Inshofri crater, Furna do Enxofre Caldeira) is a volcanically formed cave with a length of 194 m and a height of 50 m. It has the largest volcanic cave dome in Europe, covered with stalactites. The cave was discovered by geologists in 1898, and in 1939 a staircase was built to the bottom of the cave. To better understand and learn about the cave before hiking, it is worth visiting the information center, which is located directly above the fault.
