Fagradalsfjall is an active volcano formed during the Ice Age on the Reykjavik Peninsula. It is a relatively young and active volcano on the Reykjavik Peninsula.

Its appearance in the spotlight of the world community occurred in March 2021, when it erupted after a period of seismic activity. This eruption marked the first volcanic event to occur in this area in more than 800 years. The eruption is characterized by its style, in which molten lava flows out relatively calmly compared to more explosive volcanic eruptions. The last eruption was in early 2024.
