Overview of Vranjaca Cave

Vranjaca Cave, Kotlenice, Croatia

The entrance to the Vranjaca Cave is landscaped, there is a stone staircase, but it is perceived as a pile of stones. The stone outgrowths located on all sides of the cave, the bizarre outlines of the stones — all this has been preserved and has not changed for several decades.

In 1963, the Vranjaca Cave received the status of a geomorphological monument. This means that the terrain is characterized by an unusual relief of the earth's surface. Access roads were brought to the cave, and in 2001 the lighting system in Vranjac was completely changed.

Near the entrance to the Vranjača Spilja cave is the starting point for a hiking trail leading to the most famous peak of Mount Mosor, Vikkov Peak (1,325 m). The landscaped surroundings with stone and wooden benches and tables, pine forest and picturesque nature are another reason not to ignore this landmark.
