Sourbeyarkirkya (Saurbæjarkirkja) Turf Church is an old turf-covered church that was originally Catholic. It was built in 1858 and is one of the few remaining in Iceland.
The internal structure of the church consists of a wooden frame, and the walls are made of stone. In such churches, the bells were usually hung on the pediment, since there was no church tower.
