Samara is a "City of Labor Valor" and one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, located on the left bank of the Volga River. Magnificent historical architecture, adjacent to large sandy beaches that stretch for kilometers along one of the longest river embankments in Russia.
The city begins its history in 921, when the first mention was made by the Arab traveler Ibn Fadlan, and in 1367 the Samar pier appeared on the maps of the Venetian merchants of Picigano. The official date of the city's foundation is considered to be 1568. Since the middle of the 19th century, Samara has been the center of an economically significant region of Russia, as well as one of the scientific and cultural centers of the country.

On January 27, 1935, the city was renamed Kuibyshev, becoming the largest industrial center of the USSR. In the period from 1960 to 1991, foreign tourists could not visit it due to its strategic importance. On January 25, 1991, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the city regained its historical name and became open to the public.
