The Sacre Coeur Cathedral of Casablanca (or The Church of the Sacred Heart) — beautiful historic white cast concrete church located in the heart of the city.
The cathedral was built in 1930 by the famous French architect Paul Tournon. In 1956, after the independence of Morocco, the temple was converted into a cultural centre.
The Sacré-Cœur Cathedral of Casablanca
An interesting fact, the cathedral was built with segments starting from the altar. The original budget was exceeded, so from 1930 to 1952, the building, although a functioning cathedral, where services were held, was unfinished and consisted of an altar and only 3 bays (vertical parts) out of 10.
