Overview of Grand Friday Mosque
Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufanu al-Auzam (Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu al-Auzam), as it is officially called, is the largest mosque in the Maldives and attracts not only pilgrims, but also architecture lovers.
The mosque was built in 1984 with the support of the Persian Gulf countries.
