Fort St. Elmo (The National War Museum) was built in 1552 to protect the city from the Ottoman invasion. There are two chapels, barracks and defensive fortifications on its territory, which, along with artifacts, trophies and historical sculptures, tell about the long history of Malta's defense.
The museum's exposition on the territory of the fort is divided into seven parts, each of which covers certain parts of history.
