Surtsey

Surtsey Island is an island in the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the southernmost point of Iceland. The island appeared on the ocean surface in 1963 as a result of the eruption of an underwater volcano. In 1965 it was declared a nature reserve, in 2008 UNESCO declared Surtsey a World Heritage Site.
